Can you register for Claude Certified Architect (CCA-F / CCAR-F) without a partner company?
No. As of 9 October 2026, you cannot register for any Claude exam, Claude Certified Architect (CCAR-F) included, without a Claude Partner Network organization and an email on its domain. You have four routes: check whether your employer is already a partner, bring your firm into the network, work with a partner organization, for example through our Certified AI Consultant Program ($60 per two months once accepted), or postpone the exam.
To register for a Claude exam, you need an account through a Claude Partner Network organization. Anthropic rejects personal email addresses. This applies to all four exams, including Architect Foundations (CCAR-F) and Professional (CCAR-P). A company’s use of Claude does not by itself grant exam access. Below are the requirements and options allowed by the organizer.
Four exams, one registration rule
The fee differs from exam to exam. Who can register, and where, is the same for all four.

Prices are in USD before any partner-tier discount, as Anthropic’s certification FAQ lists them on 9 October 2026. Registered partners pay the full price. Select, Preferred and Global Premier partners get 50% off at checkout, and Global Premier partners get 100% off through 31 December 2026. Architect Foundations cost $99 before 30 June 2026. “CCA-F” is a common short form; Anthropic’s exam code is CCAR-F.
What the gate checks
Registration runs through Anthropic Partner Academy, and at sign-in it checks two things:
TWO CHECKS AT SIGN-IN
- 1. Your organization is in the Claude Partner Network. A company that only buys Claude is a customer, not a partner, and it does not pass. The FAQ says it directly: certification is currently available only to organizations in the network.
- 2. Your email is on a domain recognized on that partner's record. Gmail, Outlook and iCloud fail here. So do subsidiary and regional domains the partner has not registered.
An unrecognized domain produces the message “You aren't signed in with a partner company employee email”. If you work at a partner, ask for the domain to be checked on its record. Adding it through partner-support@anthropic.com takes 7 to 10 days. Do this before the exam. A credential earned on an unrecognized domain does not count toward the firm’s tier.
Why Anthropic built the gate
Certification launched on March 12, 2026 alongside the Claude Partner Network. Anthropic designed it for people at partner organizations. The number of active certified people is one requirement for a firm’s tier.
The tiers have hard thresholds. A firm reaches Select with at least 10 active certified people, Preferred with 100 and Global Premier with 1,000, plus deployed customers and public references. Active means holding a current certificate and having used Claude in the past 90 days. Associate is the one exam that does not count toward the tier.
Partner-tier requirements can give firms a reason to train their teams and sometimes recruit. They do not measure open vacancies. The article on CCA’s value when looking for work separates those rules from company commitments and my own interpretation.
Joining the network costs nothing. Anthropic's application form, read on 3 November 2026, says a company should be a registered business with 10 or more employees, operate in a supported region and offer consulting, implementation or managed services to customers. A new firm starts at the Registered level and commits to at least 10 certified practitioners.

Four routes when your employer is not a partner
1. Check again. Large companies often join under a group domain, and every partner's standing is visible in the public directory of the Claude Partner Hub. Your local domain may simply be missing from the record. Ask whoever owns the Anthropic relationship before you decide there is none. You can confirm a firm's tier yourself, and I showed how to look a firm up in the Service partners directory.
2. Apply for your firm to join the Claude Partner Network. Membership is free. The application form asks for a registered business with 10 or more employees that offers consulting, implementation or managed services. The firm commits to certifying at least 10 people. Someone in the organization must apply; the next steps depend on its decision and timetable.
3. Work with a partner organization. You can work with an organization that already belongs to the network. We run the Certified AI Consultant Program for AI consultants. It has its own admission criteria. Members can take the four Anthropic exams through our partner organization.
4. You can postpone the exam. Anthropic has not announced a date for public registration. If the credential is not currently required for your work, you do not need to choose an exam date before resolving access.
What to check before you pay anyone, including us
Read the terms of the organization through which you plan to take the exam. Establish what you are paying for, who awards the credential and what happens if you change jobs. The questions below apply to our program too.
- Who issues the certificate? It should be Anthropic, as a Credly badge in your name. A certificate belongs to the person, not to the firm, and Anthropic's terms say a partner cannot assign it to anyone else.
- Who takes the exam fee? Anthropic, at its published price, separately from any membership fee.
- Which email will you register under? Whatever the answer, add your personal email to your Credly profile. Anthropic recommends it, so the badge stays with you when the work email does not.
- Is the partner in good standing? The certification terms allow Anthropic to revoke a certificate if the partner is no longer in good standing with the program.
- What happens if you fail? You pay Anthropic again for the retake and the waiting periods apply. No intermediary can change that.

From registration to exam day
FIVE STEPS
- 1. Open your exam's page on Anthropic Partner Academy. The registration link and the exam guide are there. Read the guide first.
- 2. Sign in with the partner email and pay by card. The price at checkout already includes your firm's tier discount.
- 3. Wait for the Pearson VUE email and create your account there.
- 4. Book a slot online with a proctor (OnVUE) or at a Pearson test center. The registration stays valid for five years.
- 5. Bring a government ID with exactly the name you registered under. You must be 18 or older.
You take the exam in English or Japanese, without reference material or browser translation. Your score appears on screen at the end. After an online pass, the Credly email usually arrives within minutes. I described my own two hours with a proctor in my account of taking the architect exam.

Frequently asked questions
Can I take a Claude certification exam with a personal email?
No. Registration requires an email on a domain recognized on a Claude Partner Network member's record. Gmail, Outlook and other personal addresses are rejected at sign-in.
Is Claude Certified Architect open to the public?
Not as of 9 October 2026. Anthropic's FAQ says certification is currently available only to organizations in the Claude Partner Network, and it has not announced a date for public registration.
Can freelancers get Claude certified?
Only through a Claude Partner Network organization, because registration requires an email on a partner's recognized domain. A freelancer can work with a partner that takes on consultants. A one-person company does not meet Anthropic's current application criteria, which ask for a registered business with 10 or more employees.
Does the certificate stay with me if I leave the company?
Yes. The certification belongs to the individual and moves with you. Anthropic recommends adding a personal email to your Credly profile so you keep access to the badge wherever you work.
How long does it take to add a company email domain?
Seven to ten days. Email partner-support@anthropic.com with the parent company domain and the other domains that should roll up to it, well before the planned exam date.
Where is the Claude Certified Architect registration link?
On the certification's own page on Anthropic Partner Academy, next to the exam guide and the prep courses. You need to be signed in with a partner email to register and pay.
